About how many traps do you set on your lines? I got about 30 strung out about a mile long. Is that about normal?

that depends on you I have about 25 to 30 out but I have to go about 5 miles as I am trapping beaver mink muskrat some canine trappers go very far between traps as they travel around alot. I know one guy had 90 traps out but he dosn't work I do . so some times its hard to make a good set with the flash light in one hand get the best results on sunday and monday sometimes I can make some sets that get results daily . I caught 17 times in one set mostly possum but 4 coon after I caught 13 possum oh ya there was a possum in it once between the coon . I have only had bait taken since and that is a week since I had any thing in it . so I reset it alittle different we will see if I can out smart the little theif could be an old coon as I can't see tracks the ground is frozen with no snow.

Something has gotten into my 220 bucket set twice now and pulled the trap out both times without getting caught. The trap is wedges into the buck at one spring really well, and the trap fires just fine when I check it. I drop a full 20 oz soda bottle from 8 feet and it gets caught but whatever is eatting free meals isn't. What's up with that?
