Got this one today out of a bank den using a 220.It was nailed right behind the ears,not real big but its # 2 for the year and that puts a :D on my face :D :D :D I moved my 330 to a very well used slide and put a diver log so I hope tomarrow maybe I will get a big boy.I think that is all I will take for this year out of this colony,or do you guys think I could take more?Image

I like to watch for how big or active the house is,along with how big the feed bed is,how much cutting they did in the fall is also a good indicator.You cant always depend on how big the house is if it has been used for years.Just had to clean out a colony and there was five in it.
1-50lb 1-47lb and three smaller ones, that seems to be an average for around here if they have not been trapped the year before.
Looks like you had a blast in the swamp

Nice job!! I don't have a chance to trap beaver this year, maybe next year when I can drive.

cudos on the beaver. I love to trap beaver! Id say if you have only taken the two smaller ones Id still try to take one of the adults. This will force the other one that is left to find a mate and set up shop again.
