How long will the fur stay good under water (temp35-45)?
We have had a lot of rain here lately and the water shot way up overnite.
I caught a beaver and a mink on drown wires and it most likely was before the water got up so high (to high for me to get to) which was about six days ago, are their fur still good or will they slip?

A lot of guys that trap early winter only get to check traps on weekends a I have seen plenty of their fur it all looked good and some of these guys have had their catch tanned and it came back fine.
But I will say that it is not the way I would want or ever would do on purpose.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wanting to make sure the fur wasn't going to slip. I normaly check every 24 hrs.myself but due to the 3 days of strait rain and then the 3 days of partly rainy weather here the creek I'm trapping flooded really quick (over night) and I couldn't get to my sets. Thats part of trapping large creeks I guess.
