Wednesday morning I checked all my fox and coyote traps to find 1 grey fox. I dropped it off at my shed and started off to check my mink and rat sets which I have to do on foot and takes quite a while. I caught nothing and started for home. As I walked into my yard I watched a mink run thru the back yard, under the RV, out into the front yard, on top of the wood pile and then across the road and into an old equipt barn. I changed clothes and took my dog for a walk. I sat down at a picnic table beside a small pond on my property to rest. There was a nice rat staring at me about 20 feet away. He dove into the water in a small opening in the ice. Ive never seen any sign at the pond and have never trapped it before, I also have never trapped near the old barns on our land. I now have sets at both areas and will let ya know how I make out.

Success !!! This morning I caught a very nice male mink in a 110 conibear set outside an opening in the barn and a rat on a float set in the pond where warm weather and rain has melted the ice. Unfortunately all fox and coyote sets were empty but im not complaining... :D
