Well we got all of our beaver sets out sat, with no shows this morning, howver im not dissapointed because the little ice showed they did not come anywhere near our sets, but they will. We did catch 9 rats last night however, and missed two, not to bad. They are fleshed and stretching right now! Rats are gonna have to be my money maker this year, and there is nothing wrong with that....Oh and i found a catfish that had been clawed up by what i suppose was an otter, so i cut it in half, and my brother made a cubby with a 220, and i used a 1.5 stop loss on mine. Well apparently a rabbit thought my cubby looked like a great house, and then a yote thought the detained rabbit looked tasty...wish i had set a #3 2 feet out from the cubby. humorous morning anyway.

that's awesome! Rats are bringing good money this yearr from local buyers, and there's good demand for them. Bummer for the poor rabbit though. *LOL* What a way to go.

Yeah, i would have felt much worse for him if he had not ruined my set the first night it was out! I missed today on a beaver with a single spring 330 i borrowed from a friend. I wonder if it really missed him or if he had been trapped before and slapped it, i reset it agin and bent the trigger way down, so we will see what happens. No possible way he can see the trigger now, and there was no indication that it had caught him at all. If it is missed again i believe a #3 will find it's way a couple of feet in front of it.
I need some beaver justice!

Because that is all i had available to me. I did priority mail on some duke 330's from R-P outddors, but its been a week and thy haven't come yet. So much for getting what you paid for on shipping. The trap is fast and has good holding power, but the single was all i could borrow. Not many people trap around here so i was lucky to get it...or not.

The only problem is that you risk educating the beaver instead of killing them. Which puts you at a greater deficit in the long run because now your good 330's will be avoided. I only order dog supplies from RP. All of my trapping stuff comes from MinnTrapProd or Murrays.

Should i think about pulling the 330 i have out now? With it i will only have three 330's to work with because the budget was tight. I was also wondering because i have seen it other places that some peole use 220's for beaver....besides the obvious issue of it's appearance in size to the beaver, are there any other issues regarding effectiveness?
