What is this set Ive been trapping for 20 plus years and dont recall that one. Can somebody please advise me. Ive always used blind sets and pocket sets for mink.

Lets see if I can get this right, at least in my thought. The bottom edge set is where a 110 conni is set up under and on the bottom of undercut creek/river banks. No bait, no lure. It's actually a blind set so to speak. Have caught majority of my mink using it. Works also for otter and beaver as well.

I will tell you this it sounds like a set i use except I use a no 1 coil spring trap. I will take 2 six inch sticks and push them into the under cut bank. About three inches deep and then i will set the no 1 on the sticks that i leave sticking out of bank. Ive caught a lot of rats and mink this way. I dont know if you have tried this or not but I would say you would like this. Besure to use a rock for weight to drown the rat or mink. Thanks for explaining that to me I thought i was missing out.

I just started trapping last year and even though I have seen mink on the creek I am trapping while deer hunting, I can't get them to go in the trap.

I have 110's set as mentioned above, tucked up in and around the roots just above the water. I also have a couple of #11 in front of pocket sets at the water edge with either mink lure or a muskrat leg in the pocket and nothing after two weeks except for one raccoon, one muskrat (thats where the legs came from) and a squirel last night.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The #110 in the bottom edge set is set underwater, on the bottom and right up against the bank.

Like next to a bridge pier or in shallow water (1-2")

I recently discovered a faint trail along a steep creek bank,it was in the mud under the water. Placed a 110 in the trail made the fence with sticks so far 5 rats and 1 mink. First time I have used a set like this, and I've been kicking myself for all the years that I didn't.... :x
