Wolf the youngest is almost 9 months old and he is a chunk, and I couldn't be happier with the rough start he had coming into this world ..his brother turned 3 this month and loves being outside with Paw Paw no matter what iam doing...thanks for asking..iam amazed that your talking about clearing snow from you trails,,iam supposed to get the first hard freeze of the year tonight, hell I mowed the yard yesterday..keep up the good work, love seeing your pictures and tales of the trap line..

Snow is not what im trying to clear but trees that come down across the trails from the heavy snow. That is the problem.

Hit the 65 mark today on beaver, things will slow down as ole man winter is here. So terrible is the heavy snow that most trails will consider major saw work to clear. Just another burden to the north trappers. Getting pains just thinking about it.

14 more today on two lakes. Lots of marten sign and mink and fox. Time to switch to land animals later this week.

Wolf I am jealous of your trapping weather and your catches!! You are an awesome trapper and have some great trapping country. We were at 30.6C today makes trapping a distant thought.

Big lakes only have open water this time of year and even so some bays could have ice. Strict rule, take care of your puddles and small ponds and lakes first. then hit the big lakes as a last resort. Unfortunately lady luck was not with me this year. Shot my first deer of the season tonight with crossbow, back window of garage shot. Snow was heavy and when i went to look for it i had lost the blood trail and tracks. But got my dog out and he found it in 10 minutes, good ole bailey.

Going out tomorrow to set up for land critters where i can and the weekend. All this heavy snow has but destroyed any chance for most trappers up here to run a full line. For many will be a short season.
