Post subject:  Coyote/Fox Green Belly Question

Haven't started trapping yet but these warm temperatures have me wondering. If I check traps before work and don't skin till after work, at what temperature would you start worrying about letting a coyote or fox hang for 10-12 hours? What about 6 hours if I went home at lunch and skinned? Thanks

Just be sure to hang them up by back foot in shade to keep guts into the rib cage area. That will help to prevent green belly for a longer period of time. Skinnin at lunch would be better than evening, but evening will be ok. :wink:

Coyotes are a lot easier to skin when they are still warm. If you only have one, I'd get on it right away. Just depends how much time you have.
