I received the results from last Sunday's Pennsylvania Trappers Association District 5 (my district) Fur Auction.

Read'em and weep...

Not knowing the condition of the hides makes a competent evaluation difficult. Does look like more than critters got skinned. Haven't seen prices that low in forty years.

 It takes just as much labor to put up a $1.00 pelt as it does a $100.00 pelt!

I would imagine that like most state association sales, the sellers can pull their fur if they are not happy with the offers......with prices like those, why would anyone sell. Send them to auction.......$6 fox is a crime.

This is why I started shipping to NAFA in 2010. Sometimes these auctions can be good as was the case last year before the prices took a nose dive. The local fur buyers were driven by speculation and prices went much better than the auction houses offered. The problem is, the local buyers were burned really bad and buyers did survive and stay in business are low balling everything.

I get it. But with prices like that buyers are going to ruin their clientele.
