$1.40can = $1 us.

That don't sound encouraging at all. Buyer here was paying $30can for unskinned coyotes but I talked with him last eve and he said he will now pay $15.

90% + of his are bought with fur on carcass. Guys who take the time and effort to skin and prepare send to NAFA. I sold him 2 outta the back of my truck for $10 which was about $10 more than I figure I woulda got if I'd a spent 5 hours on them.LOL We never got into stretched hides but he wasn't being very optimistic. Says he ain't buying any beaver. If you were to give them to him he'd take them though.

I was really hoping the rat prices were going to come around. I guess not with all the cheap female mink in the pipeline.

Always like that, "yeah, I won't give you any money for it but you can leave it here if you want." If it was truly worthless, he wouldn't take it. Sooner or later its going to get skinned out and either put up or in the freezer for another year. Because its free, he has almost no risk in it except his time sometime. That's the best kind of scrap to find, something free and fairly easy to break down for scrap or re-sell parts on ebay. No cost to me except some time. When a buyer won't take a critter even if they're free, then you know things are near the bottom...

It does look bleak but it'll turn around, it always does. I'm sure as soon as the inventory goes down prices will come up but that may take a couple of seasons.

I think a good indication fur is coming back, is higher gas/oil prices. Once we see it raise, in a couple of seasons from then....we should be in buisness. Chinese and Russian economy must improve first, or fur will not.
