Ok
I am having a tough time this year,
my main target is bobcat,

i have a few good spots, but have not yet seen bobcat tracks in the area, hard ground and no snow.
anyway
i am setting high red rocks, ledges and some lower heavy cover.

i have coyote,fox and others so i am setting really tight, heavy guiding. ext.

i have a few walk through sets and small dirt hole sets. also a couple natural cubbies.

using VHS tape as flagging,

my question now is bait or lure? both?
i have tired several combinations, o gormans powder river cat call, powder river, steppen wolf, catmando .
also have some gland lure, gilla and a few others.

i use powder river for yotes and fox,
also have o gormans LDC, and some RP creations.

what is a good combination for bobcats?

My guiding for K9's is so subtle, it is almost none existent. A single blade of grass, pebbles 1/2 the size of a pea. Never trapped cats so can't comment on them. Just make sure you are setting on sign and if everything else is done right you should be pinching them.

I use a little skunk for long distance call, some gland in the back of my set, and a little urine on a cotton ball i hang in the set.....cats are real playfull....just like a house cat.....and a swinging cottonball in the back of a 30 inch cubbie will bring them in for a look, if you are allowed to use feathers in utah use feathers.......always look for rock ledges running along good cover....the longer the better....set at the top and one on the bottom.....i like cubbies for these......i am waiting for snow to set some walk throughs.......i also use a moddified dirt hole...i make a little cubbie....not lots of backing but an obviouse way in and out......half way throu i dig a dirt hole and hang a cotton ball above it....works pretty good on those cats and greys even pull in a song dog once in a while.
hope this helps

If you hunt deer at all you could use the meat you cant eat for bait. It works pretty well.
