For me, there are a few. I can not pick just one. I wish I could catch lynx, wolverine, fishers, and marten. Part of it would be just the experience of running a line in the forest, part of it is these animals are so exotic to me, and would be a once in a lifetime thing.

I dream of wolverines and lynx especially.

What about you?

Welcome CBC! Come up here and set some fields and you'll catch a digger or two. Or go with fish 94 and he'll snare a few crossing under a fence (I would like see that!!).

You guys may laugh at me, but possums. They seem easy to catch so I think it would be fun to catch a bunch of them. But I'd also like to be able to trap marten

Fisher. We have a season for them here in ny but far from where I am. Allowed 5 per season. Maybe someday I can go up to the Adirondaks and get me my quota :D

WCS- I think NY is one of the few states in the North Woods (where there are fishers and martin) that allow non-residents to trap (I would not be allowed to trap in MN, WI, or MI--MI because I'm from SD [along with a good number of other states]). I think you're a good bit younger than I so maybe if I retire first and think about going to the Adirondacks and you would have some time off we could team up :)

P.S. Do you have any trapping pixs from this season??

It would be neat to trap martin. We have fisher here in PA and I have caught a few of them but no martin. They did exist here at one time though and a feasibility study to reintroduce them to Pennsylvania was done in 2002. The report is below.

NY has no limit on fisher but they were talking about one in the expansion zone. Limit on martin is 6. I have always wanted to go to Maine and trap bear, wolverine in Alaska would be a close second.

Oops. I meant to say marten. Lol. Thanks for correcting me.

Nonpc, sounds good. I have a friend who lives up there and knows some excellent spots. Ny allows non residents and actually welcomes them here to trap. All that nonsense in the upper Midwest with non residents not being allowed is hurting the sport for all of us IMO.

I would like a longer season on fischer and marten so that I can catch a limit, otherwise I have always wanted to trap a wolverine.
