I still have a few snares and traps out but not having any luck. Traps keep freezing down and they keep missing the snares.  Not giving up yet though.

Coyotes are rubbing, but cats will be good for a bit longer, if your season is open.

I really don't care if the yotes are rubbing. I'll keep trying to trap or shoot them as long as I can. every dead yote saves a lot of deer and turkeys.

Did not even make a set this year (health) but our season ended Jan. 31. As a rule they are going downhill by the second week of Jan. where I live.

Still have yet to catch one, but I'm gonna keep the snares out in my deer hunting area till the last day of the season. Then once spring comes try and call them in, try and help the deer (aka help myself  )

thanks, doc, for the good thought. nah, it's not going to get better; my long untreated asthma has gone on to become full COPD. Now on it's just manage to live with it, but I am being treated.

We can shoot coyotes year round as well, but I don't know any one who does. Maybe I should learn to call 'em. Be less strenuous than a pack basket.

I didn't think we were going to get much snow here, and I was too lazy to pull my traps. They're now sitting under a foot of snow or more. Other than that I have an encounter with them every once in a while. I might try to call some this weekend.
