I did trap this fall but it was very poor, most of the corn and bean fields I usually trap looked like this. No crops, no critters. It was so wet this spring very few farmers were able to get fields planted.

Now I will just throw a bunch of catches in, some from the fall, and some as recent as this week.

On a side note it has been kind of a rough year personally so sorry for not being on here with all my brothers from WAT! Just couldn't get the motivation to post pics. On a side note I saw I just sold an undamaged II dark coyote for a whopping 8 bucks. Unreal. I will say the fur prices being in the toilet haven't affected my motivation to trap! I am still out there but have modified my tactics. NO MORE foot holds in the winter for me, too much screwing around. Every canine I caught this year was in a snare.

Just thinking about you the other day Happy, wondering if you're still around. Nice work on the k-9s. I certainly couldn't snare worth a crap this year. What's the trade ratio between coon and reddie, 2 to 1 or more?? So your 2 fox are probably worth 5 of my coon (maybe) :)

Thank you ALL for the replies!! Unseasonably warm here, got my coon buckets all re-baited and smelling nice and fishy, they're gonna be moving tonight!! Like 40 degrees out! For all you northern guys this winter has been a nice but rare chance to get PRIME coons with all the warm weather!

hey Happy, did you ever find out who stole your traps out of your garage last season? We had a poor year last year, but the numbers are back up this year. I know what you mean about screwing around with the footholds in the snow...it's a massive pain. I am still trying to come up with a couple limited sets that will work all winter using footholds, but snares are so much easier and satisfying! Congrats on the catches and thanks for sharing your season with us.

Al-Think you may have me possibly confused with someone about the traps being ripped off, I have had some stolen but never remember anything getting taken from home unless I am forgetting about something?? Glad I am not the only one thinking footholds can be a little inefficient in the winter, the freeze thaw, frozen traps, trying to hide my tracks in the snow, snares are awesome, so fast and efficient, and the coyote or fox is DOA, another bonus! I have seriously contemplated selling all of my MB coyote footholds, can't quite bring myself to do it though. Saw your pictures of the fur you have and it looks like you had a stellar year! Good job buddy!

Nice job Happy!

That's amazing, it looks like you have less snow than we do. Also, our coons have been denned up for a few weeks with the cold weather we've been having also.

We have very little snow right now, been very warm as of late but I see it cooled down quite a bit today, been nice not having 3 feet of snow to trudge through like I did last year!

I don't know about that! I will tell you I haven't used footholds all winter, just coni's and snares for me
