Alright I need to get more steel traps and I hate coil springs don't ask me why it's personal preference. Anyway I know a place a place I can get duke #11 double longspring for $6.99 each which will be fine for coon, mink, muskrat, and fox but now I need to get either #3 or #4 for bobcat , yote, beaver, ect. And I'm only 14 so paying over $13 for a trap sucks so what stored online do you know of where I can get #3 or #4 longspring for that price?

Thanks redneckr3bel

Neverland.

Lol just teasing. First, welcome to the site. Probably will mean used traps for that price, which will mean ebay most likely. Im not your worry, but trust me when I say i know a whole list of trappers that would buy every #3-#4 for $13 that they'd come across. Competition will be rough. Just being realistic and not trying to pee on your parade. Good luck.

Added: you can get new bridger #3 for $15 at FnT trading post. But thats about as good as i can do. Also check Trapperman. The trap shed sometimes has LS traps on there.

I found a smokin deal on bridger #4 for 15.25 on Fleming traps but after getting the dukes and Bridgers it's $219 for the 2 dozen which is not bad so add 10 bucks for bait and lure and 13 for 40 homemade cable stakes I say I'm pretty well off

It depends, are you only interested in new traps? Or used? I buy almost all of mine used and can usually buy all the #3s I want for $8. Plus shipping ofcourse unless at a show. I do come up with the occasional bum trap. But that's part of the trade.

You can advertise on craigslist also but you may have to be 18? With the spongey fur market there may be a bigger selection of used traps out there? I bought 3 nô.3 Bridger coilsprings(beaver traps i hope, im gonna ask on here how good they are, price was right$7 each)last week off a country furbuyer that was getting out of trapping because of fur prices. You can adverise in local free papers too. Nows the time as seasons ending and many disappointed "trappers" arent getting buckets of gold they expected for their hides. When fur prices rise so do used trap prices. I love long springs too but i use coilsprings also.

After you're hear awhile and read the rules for the trading post that may be an option too? Some just bounce thru and skim over the forums but you may catch their eye with a WTB post there?

Contact Nancy at http://www.usedtraps.com/ . If she doesn't have what you want, she might be able to put you on to someone. I personally will vouch for Nancy. She is as honest as the day is long and a great source of information.
