One male yote today and the biggest of the year. He was heavy. Fairly nice fur on him, but you would not know it by the pic. All those blotches are cockleburs and a lot of them. Will be picking for a while. Flat set.

What a great surprise bro! Congrats on the awesome gift and catches. I had a trap just like them once, liked it real well! Not as much as someone else apparently. Them bridgers run a bit bigger than a regular #3, I likes that. Someone has a heart of gold, eh?

Interesting how many Santa helpers there are. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Very cool all around.

Back leg catch. Interesting. Do you think he was lifting a leg to do a pee?? Have you caught any other yotes this year by the back foot??

Thanks PC! Have caught several by the hind foot. Maybe taking a pee and maybe not. My flat sets are always a walk through set up, so either foot may be caught. Always four feet crossing my trap. It doubles your odds of a catch when they are there. Sometimes at my flat sets I will have the trap back farther in the walk through. 16" up to 24". More times than not anymore. I have found that my visit to catch ratio has went up because of it. Some of them dogs seem to get a little fobic\shy and don't want to commit quite all the way. That trap farther back has more of a chance to grab them.

He's still kickin, kickin the crap out of some yotes! I been talking to him tonite and he's been running his line in some white stuff they call snow. I recall seeing it before. Amazing what a difference 150 or so miles can make. Richard has had all kinds of snow this year in his part of Ks and I haven't had an inch total. I'll let him fill in the details when he gets back on.
