Sorry I haven't posted much updates this season. Been pretty busy all around even when I have had to pull my lines to go back to work. Had a good week of muskrat and mink trapping, I caught 21 muskrats and 1 mink. Had a great time. I started scouting for bobcat and fisher season which opens in 2 weeks, found a couple new areas to set, can't wait until the 20th!!!! Then its on to beaver as long the ice doesn't get too thick. Hope to have some pictures of our bobcats!!!!! Good luck everyone!

Nice action on the mrats!! Someday I'll get back into double digits with those critters. Ice trapping through the their huts is probably my first trapping love...

Good luck with your cats and beavers. Your muskrat run was decent and congrats on your mink.

Happy New Year!!!! Just thought I would give another update on my line. We didn't do any good on bobcats and fishers the week of Christmas, there was plenty of sign, the cats just didn't return in time. We only had 4 check days. I did manage to pick up another mink down at camp. The weather cooperated for the opening of beaver season, I did manage to catch 3 so far, a 50#, 48#, and 30#, plus a few more muskrats. My totals to date are now 51 coon, 24 muskrats, 12 possum, 10 red fox, 4 coyotes, 3 beaver, and 2 mink. I was able to get everything fleshed and boarded for the March NAFA auction, and I am working on getting enough beaver to make a coat for my wife. Really happy with my catch this season, I hope we get a mild winter, or at least some open water in March to go after the beaver again. I will have some pictures soon to post.
