Just put two rats up, the other three were still way too wet. Should be good by tomorrow. Man was I ever rusty! Poor rat was nearly swiss cheese (well not really, but still put a few holes) Second one was almost a perfect put up. I'm sure Happy will love my WIRE stretchers

I'm heading out tomorrow to set for beaver and muskrat, hopefully get my first beaver!

Got some beaver sign you're seeing? What type of sets you plan on plugging in for the beav? I am glad to see you using some WIRE stretchers! I have to admit I slipped a little last year and used a couple wooden stretchers on the monster rats that were too long for the wire :D

Well, I have a friend, who used to trap but quit, but he helps me out with the trapping, and its in the pond near his ranch, and the landowners asked him if he'd catch it, but he offered it to me for the experience. Him and I are going out together, and he'll show me some sets and stuff. I actually haven't been out on this pond looking around yet, just going off what he said.

I've heard the dam crossover set is good if you can find the trail, but I don't think they've damned this up, so have to see what it looks like

Had a good evening setting traps yesterday, set 10 traps and went out again today and set 2 more, plus caught one rat. We seen the beaver yesterday out swimming around, so he's definitely there. Hoping for a mixed bag on Friday's check, hopefully catch the beaver, some rats, and a coon or two

Wait you mean it makes a difference when you put them up? I thought I just stuck everything on these huge wire stretchers I have

Don't remind me! No more open waters :( at least might get a chance to snare some coyotes in the snow though, got a place to go for that this year, don't know what I'm doing though lol. A local guy might be taking me out on his snare line though so I can see how to do it

Well two more rats today, skinned one and got him up on my wire stretcher, I'll do the other tomorrow when hes dry. I don't have pics of these ones, have pics of my rat from Wednesday though, I'll post those soon.

Planning to set some coon sets tomorrow, got 3 spots to go to, I think I have enough traps to go 2 at each and 1 at the third, but not sure. I may skip one spot and go there in a few weeks instead

Well had a good check. Caught 5 rats (One was eaten though :( ) And the first coon of the season. Not too bad of a size, I'm going to try and weigh it.

Bringing him back on the 50cc scooter was a little rough, but I made it

"Not too bad of a size"??? I'd say that thing was a porker :) My fattest one from last year ended up only going 2XL. He had girth, just didn't have the length...

I wired him to the seat posts, he wasn't going anywhere. I'm getting rid of that this winter and buying a car or something this winter for when I get me license in February

Great pics LHB :D Love the tailgate shot!
Skip the car and get a pick'em'up truck. A lot easier tossing things in the bed of a truck IMO.

Well, the scooter isn't going too far, I'm selling it to my little brother, so it'll still be around to go around in.

I've been thinking about it, but I want something with good gas mileage. I might get a minivan, has decent mileage (better than a truck) but still have some decent room for hauling animals or scrap
