Well its time to roll! Heading out in the morning to set muskrat traps out on one of the marshes around here. Already got one dropped off by my uncle who had it in his pond, and told me to come catch more when the season opens! Gonna hit the ponds next week or the week after, but wanna get on the marsh tomorrow. Will try and get some pics!

Thanks guys. Trying some new trapping techniques this year. Trying out funnel traps and gonna try to use one leghold for muskrats, and make a drowning set. This is the marsh where another trapper was ****ing with my traps, so I'm going for a week, and pulling out of here, hoping to get as many rats as I can before he gets there

Amak, I love your signature! :P

Got in 11 sets today, 6 funnels and 5 conibears. Never tried the footholds yet, never found a good spot to try it. Plus I tore a hole in my waders :/ and can't even fix them tonight because I have relay for life.

Gonna go out tomorrow morning and check my traps then add some more, marsh wasn't quite as good as I had expected, ended up only putting in 6 sets there, and 5 at a pond, and got another pond for tomorrow to set. I'm not sure, but I think there could be a mink in the pond I'm going to set tomorrow, I found trails going in and out of the water, but one trail comes out of the water and goes into the woods, I guessed that maybe its a mink hunting mice or other small animals? Just gonna stick some 120's in the trails, see if I can find out what it is. Also going to try my luck at beaver trapping sometime this week hopefully.

I ended up setting some traps in the other pond yesterday, I took a break from relay for life and went and set it. I went and checked the two ponds before church. Nothing :? I haven't checked the marsh yet, may not get to that till Monday.

I'm going this afternoon to scout out a spot to trap beaver, and pretty much anything else I want. Theres a beaver pond back in the woods at their place, but they have tons and tons of land, plus a huge lake, and tons of fields. I think it should be a good spot to pick up some coon mink muskrat maybe fisher and otter

Nothing yet :( One of my funnel traps is missing, I'm hoping it just rolled away or something big ran into it, so I'm taking a rake back out with me tomorrow and I'm going to rake all around it trying to find it. You couldn't see it, it was totally underwater, just had a stick poking out of the water for me to see. Also one trap had the door knocked off, would that be a rat or something hitting it off?

Your on the board now, one thing when you go trapping is to concentrate. Taking the girl friend might hinder your train of thought a little.

I only take her out checking, not settiing

I'm 16 and she's 15, I look older for my age and she looks younger for hers, so it doesn't look like we're close in age
