I am working on a floating otter-beaver trap- it will self adjust with rising falling water- have any of you had any success with coni clips hanging your 330's UPSIDE DOWN ???

the only issue with a floating beaver set is that even with a dive stick a beaver will dive all the way to the bottom to go under the stick while an otter will just go under it....so if the water came up I would be willing to bet your beaver catches would go down on your run sets but your chances of catching otter would be the same.....never had experience with otter though I am just going off of the otter knowledge from books and reading on here

I agree that the beaver will go deeper typically than you would want- I'm trapping in Arkansas delta and there are seldom runs in the irrigation ditches- the ditches that I am especially targeting this year have beavers BUT when the water rises from the local"bayou" the otter population rises dramatically making it very likely to hav selected nights(with careful planning) of catching 10-15 otters- I am interested in catching the beaver, but am simply trying to maximize my opportunities.
