That is an awsome cat catch!! I'm sure you prefer the $3.00 ermine over an $80.00 fisher anyway.

Sweet cat catch  Good eye spoting that fox trail. A trapper has to grab those opportunistic sets when possible. I am leaning more and more towards snares for cats. I have tried cubbies, footholds, conibears. Snares seem to be the way to go, especially up here in the snow. Four more to go!

Got a small female coyote in a snare yesterday. Finally catching somthing. I cannot believe how slow this season is going for us. I will post pics as soon as I figure out how to enlarge them.

If you go to your settings on photobucket and set yours at 640X480 the pics should be pretty uniform.

I was checking my snares and there was a fox track I had set with an easy set snare on a larger tree. I go there and found a catch circle with no catch. WTH I am asking myself. I look up and there is a cat hanging in the tree by the snare. She had taken the snare up to the first branch and dropped and hung there.

most impressive catch for sure, things like that don't happen every year. That will be one to remember for sure. Glad your year is going well.

Really good work!!! I just can't look at that picture of the cat enough. That is just facinating!!! Good work on the coyote too. I tried messing with resizing your pictures too, but couldn't get it to work either.

You could probably still make some money from boiling off the skull and selling it on ebay, although I don't how catchy manage is for domestic animals if you brought the head back.

Is that a planted pine or fir stand on the left side of the pix? What's on the right, birch or aspen (popple, probably don't have the regional term spelling down right)??

Thanks guys. The snare was set on a trail on the edge of some planted norway pines on the right not pictured. The pines on the left are jackpine and the white trees are birch.
