hey everyone just thought i would see what everyone considered their best or favorite mink set. if you can include pictures that would be great! hoping we will all learn something new.

ive only caught three mink in the 2 years ive been trapping and they all three were last season. i think my favorite mink set is a blind set right where the bank goes into a culvert using a 1 1/2 coil sping.

I wish I had an informed opinion. I have set for mink, but never caught one yet. I am not sure whether they just aint where I am or maybe I just sucks. I have set bottom edge sets and even a couple places where there is an undercut bank in the creek or a tunnel through grass on the bank. I set a lot of culverts with #11's for coons and would think that it would work for a mink if he came through. :? Do you set mink sets on drowners?

i have never set a drowner actually. two of my mink were in 110's on a high bank trail and the other which i explained i just stake it as far as i can out in the deeper water. but it surely doesnt take much for a mink because it was only about 6 inches deep and that buck mink was drowned when i got there. ive heard that mink go into shock when they step in a trap so that helps a lot

When I can find a spot to put one I like the bottom edge sets. Other than that I like pocket sets, usually with either a #1 stop-loss or an old #2 LS.

I love blind sets and baited pockets.
