Well now it´s time to set some steel again I did set 7 legholds 2 nights ago , a lot of sign and hopefully some catches ;--)

Image
At small creek that didn´t produce last year , I was unlucky then , dogs in the area , some misses and freeze-up few times .

Image
But now this actual set has given 2 minks in 2 nights. see the diver ?

Image
After re-make .

Image
This set produced big buck mink yesterday .

Image
Today I caught a small female in this hollow bank set. Look a diver !

Image
Not bad at all , 7 sets , 2 days , 2 minks per day = 4.

I love this game

Enjoyed the photos Biggi....thanks. I haven't seen a mink in my area in YEARS! That is awesome that you have such a good amount. Where is the ice and snow of ICELAND in those pictures??? Would you mind taking the time to show the trap when you set it and before you camo it, I know I'd like to see the placement. Keep up the great work.

Nice job on the mink Biggi! Got a question, why does it look warmer in Iceland than it does in the northern U.S.?

Biggi- you are a mink master!! You'd be kicking through meter deep drifts of snow to get down to our creek edges right now. Good thing you're in Iceland!! :P :)

trappintime- the dot on that one pix is probably just a spot of water on the lense.

Well the party goes on another 2 today !

At this creek I´ve taken 1 mink per day (3 day´s) there I have 2 sets on the left side.
Image

I have had 2 misses on the same set but after I adjusted guide-straws it connected. Ofcourse I obey "master Swamp" and show off location.
Image

This is a "honey-hole" that produced 4 buck minks last year , that one is this years first ;--) (and location again)
Image

TT you have never seen me do better on mink as this is my best run so far. And you know that Ari was responsible for all the Yotes
The spot was compressed bad breath

Doc - I have some snow , it started freezing late last night and snowing at noon. Several day´s of frosen traps ahead I guess.

Nice job! I was wondering are you not allowed to use body grip traps? Looks like you have an abundance of mink there and with a few dozen body grippers you could really stack'em up! :D

To tell you the truth , I turned my back on body grippers today and god knows that I have tried them.
I´m not saying that I haven´t had success but nothing beats legholds in my opinion , blind sets , no bait , no lure , set on sign and hide your trap, few guide straws and you are on top.
I fancy snares and I´ll try them out this season !
I have made some snares out of 1/16 1 X19 cable , swivel and Gregerson lock. I´ve planned to set them by attaching support wire and snare to small rock , connect it to slide-wire and make a snare-drowner sets
