i still have 4 coon and 10 or 12 beaver to sell and all my reds...i think they are saving the reds for the feb auction but i dont really know. it sure is an interesting process to watch and observe all the different marketing strategies they employ at nafa.

Your grades look good Al. Pelts are sold from largest to smallest and grade and color. Your 4xl coon would be at the top because of size but because of your #4 color rating your are in lot 4. This is still good but will not bring as much as one graded #1 or 2 in color same size. You can still get top lot for for those skins if you get the highest price in that category.Anytime you see the aster sign * in front of your grade you know it has been labeled a northern supreme skin which means a quality skin. When you also have Sel in the same grade that also means a top quality fur.

Those look like some pretty good gradings, congrats on the prices. I am real impressed by the beaver! Only the first string for each region is considered top lot and always involves a super select, or select rating. For coons, a 2-3 rating is the best coloration, and is usually involved in the top lot, as well as size (either a 4xl or 5xl). In most auctions, the North Central region for coons sells for the highest prices.
