Anyone know what they are?

These are rare to see. Finally got a good photo of them that I thought I would share.

I do believe they are some kind of Brant. Check out this site:

Slamon,
I think those birds that you took a a pretty cool photo of are called Emperor Geese. I may be wrong about this, but have always prided myself on my waterfowl identification ability. I saw those birds feeding in a flooded rice paddy while serving in Korea up on the DMZ ! We would stand out on the guard post on Hill 553 and watch ducks and geese by the thousands ! Too bad we could'nt hunt them over there !

Slamon,
I just went to Google and typed in Emperor Geese and lo and behold !!! Check it out ! It said they were native to NW Alaska and SE Siberia. I hope you have that photo enlarged and framed and hung on your wall. That indeed was a very rare photo opportunity. Way Cool !!!

How right you are, those are Emperor Geese. I took that photo this week. Leave it to a man that was in Korea to get it right off. They are about the size of a brant, but I could not tell you what they taste like as we cant hunt them.
