I was on another forum and Jim Gibb from fur harvesters was on so I asked him about testin traps as I had herd he was involved in the prosses. Here is what he had to say about testin traps and the cost.


It would depend upon the type of trap, and if there was a cfm model in place. A lot of the kill type traps have cfm in place (computer simulated model)
The Fur Institute of Canada via the Trap Research Committee has a program for manufactures to test traps. Again it would depend on the type of devise. Best case a couple of thousand dollars and 5 traps, worst case $40,000 in a compound test with 20 animals and necropsies work.
Testing a basic killing trap for marten would be cheap, testing a foot trap for wolves very expensive.
