Ive never tried this one either but its supposed to work. Personaly I'd try it first with a scrap hide. 50/50 mix of Alum and soda(assume baking soda?). Into a fleshed and damp hide rub the mixture and let the hide dry for about 5 days to a week. "Roll and kneed the hide everyday at least once 2 or 3 times is better". After a week or so rub Neets foot oil into the hide each day for 3 days. Hang and let dry completely. Good Luck
