Think old automotive, specifically model T Ford.

I am going to pull the plug on this one.

The picture was identified as a tool used to remove axle spindle bushings on Model T Fords. A bushing exists at each end top and bottom of spindle. The tool is compressed and inserted through top portion to remove bushing at lower end and then tool is flipped around to remove opposite side bushing.

I investigated and do not believe this identification is correct. The following link will take you to instructions to removal and replacement of the bushings. I can not see this being used for the declared purpose. If anyone can figure what this is for, we would all be happy to hear about it.

The link you provided is correct usage for that tool.

How is this used? Insert through one bushing and tapped against the far bushing to push it out? Doesn't look like it is stout enough for that, but then I do not claim to be a mechanic.
