2 days more of deer season left and nothing.

BUT today connected. Just after 4 pm looked up to back yard to see if deer were out, nothing. Went down stairs to put wood in furnace and when I came up few minutes later there was 4 feeding. Dog was out and had went down the road to visit friends down the street. Nothing ready it took me a few moments to get bow cocked and arrow set in place. Then opened patio door slowly and just got outside the door so I could aim at the deer with out fear of the bow hitting the door. One run away then came back, must have been 5 minutes before I got a good broad side shot. There was one spiker in the group but he was facing me so then in a few moments the doe came round and gave me the perfect shot. Never went 10 feet from where I shot it. about 90 foot shot with crossbow. About 10 seconds later the dog comes running past the garage and starts barking at the deer. called him in to house. 10 minutes later fired up the bike and dragged it 50 feet to garage.

I am happy, now the kids have some meat for winter and i a few steaks. Life is grand what you make of it. Cut it close this year though.
