Six more days and I'll be on the road north.

Have packed and repacked and repacked trying to lessen my load with each attempt. I thought it was hard to pack for a trip before, but on a bike it's crazy difficult. LOL. Especially since now I'm stopping in at rendezvous and have to take my garb and accoutrements. And a few trade goods, my buffalo jawbone weapons. Anyone see Bone Tomahawk? They use jawbone weapons in that movie but I cut the bulky ends off and grind the jawbone into a point.

Have new dunlops, oil changed, crank case grease changed. Bought a couple things off ebay. Some rain pants and an awesome "looking" pair of women's harley boots. Made in china, both soles had to be reglued. I think they do that poopoo on purpose. Boots are nice enough to have the soles done.

My plan is to leave on the early morning of the second soon as the sun rises. I already have reservations in Rawlings Wy, just four or so hours east of Fort Bridger. The motel is called THE BRICKYARD of all things and is a favorite for folks on bikes cause it's the cheapest place in town, I got the last room. Cheap at $70 ! I won't be spending as many nights indoors as I'd hoped. I got a 160$ speeding ticket just the other day that cut into my travel money. :(

Ive done some checking on motorcycle cc gun laws for the four states I will be passing through.

Colorado..... a weapon can be concealed and carried on a motorcycle anywhere in Colorado but Denver city and Denver county.
It can be concealed while on the MOtorcycle but once you dismount it has to be open carry.

Utah.....A mc rider can carry concealed and loaded while ON the motorcycle but gun must be unloaded when you dismount.

Wyoming.....Gun OR ammo must be stored in a locked container so it is not readily available from the saddle bag. WELL A BIG darn THANK YOU TO WYOMING FOR ALLOWING ME TO PROTECT MYSELF. RICHARDNOGGINS.

Oregon.....Guns must be transported in a locked container or have a trigger lock.... ANOTHER STATE THATS BASSACKWARDS IN THEIR THINKING....YA THANKS OREGON FOR ALLOWING US TO SO EASILY PROTECT OURSELVES FROM DANGER. MORE RICHARDNOGGINS.

Washington.....Unloaded in an opaque case, or locked away somewhere on the bike.

Still havent decided if Im going to carry or not. My son says yes by all means. I've been in motels before and unarmed and it's not a good feeling. If someone comes through my door uninvited they might meet my baby eagle.

So I go from being excited and ready to go, to wondering if I've lost my mind to undertake such a trip by myself. Time will tell.

Thanks to Robert I will be able to post photos now and then. so ttyall from the road. msg Waugh!

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by six.

MSG,

Have a safe trip and ride carefully. Watch that speed limit; you don't want to spend a week in a county jail like Tom T..
