Some of you may know of Terry Redlin, a wildlife and 1940s/1950s Midwest rural landscape artist, that painted out of Minnesota and South Dakota (he grew up in Watertown, SD). Some of you may have a print or two of his. Redlin died earlier this week and today flags in SD were flown at half-staff. He had come down with dementia in his late 60s and had been out of the public eye for a number of years.

I never really was a big Redlin fan even though we've always have had a couple of his prints in the 20 years of married life. That changed the first time I saw the originals at the Redlin Art Center in Watertown. The commercial prints do nothing for the warmth of colors that are on the canvases. If you're even a bit of a Redlin fan and have never been to the Redlin Art Center, I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for letting us know about Mr. Redlin passing away. He was such a great outdoor artist. I just picked one to post, I like all of his work.
