Who knew luck was genetic? Our 15 year old has won 2 of the 3 50/50 draws at our local discing club bonspiel and then the women had a spiel and sold tickets on a hand made quilt to help support their endeavors. The lad bought a ticket and he got.

The really cool thing is the lady said she would build him a blue one if he wanted but he declined saying, "{L} I might find a girl someday".

I don't want to raid your thread TT, but it is hard not to tell my friends about the little boy. We should be having our second Great Grandbaby in a few months. There are some plus signs to getting OLD.

Outstanding Swamp!!!!

trappintime- Nice score with the blanket or quilt or whatever it is. Yes, maybe the young lady will like it at the proper time :)

What is a "bonspiel" and just plain "spiel"??

A bonspiel is kinda/sorta like a tournament. Spiel is just short for the former.

Luck is great yet. :D This spring I bought a sprayer for $20,000 that the guys wanted $88,000 originally. They could find no one to buy it cause they themselves couldn't make it run as most depend on others to fix their problems for cash. I on the other hand just started working through it and it is now the top sprayer in my fleet with the least hours and runs like a charm[did 1080 acres with it yesterday]. :D One needs to be able to roll with the punch's as my lad about kicked me in the nuts Tuesday when he split the tank on a sprayer he was filling  . Next day we had the old tank off

and a donor from an older machine made of stainless steel ready to mount

Total cost to me was $300 in wages as opposed to probably $10,000 if I had got a dealership to do it.

Even with my great day yesterday at work the highlight was finding a cool antler that I will turn into gold.

Sometimes luck is just a matter of how you do stuff.

PS. i'm thinking of turning the donor machine into a hunting buggy with a big old couch on

Sold that horn I found for $60 US to our local fur buyer. He pays $6/lb Can for most horns but when I showed up with it a gathering of outdoor people[party] and showed it off he said it wouldn't weigh 2lbs. So the discussion evolved to I bet him he would have to pay $20US if it weighed more than 2 1/2 lbs. He accepted and they weighed it on a freaking fish scale which came out at 3lbs 1 oz. I doubt the fish scale now as I weighed it on two different scales at home and it was 2lb 12 ounces before I had gone up North. :D

Today it has been kinda/sorta rainy which afforded mt the day off and with it I ran to several small communities within 60 miles of home as they were having community garage sales. Man is there a lot of stuff I don't need in this world. I did find a hotdog/homemade apple pie/glass of iced tea for $5. One fellow had 2 scroll saws and after jaw boning him for 10 minutes he gave me the one he used the most. :D So I bought his splitting axe for $5 and his pet taxi for $2. Then I found an old boy out of town who I spent an hour or two with who had sheds full and got invited back when the weather is better to go pick it. He had a whole whack of socket sets he wanted $4/per so I got 5 of them for $5 and a box with 73 wrench's in it for another $5. Was a good day as with my boys helping I need more wrench's. Had to give another $5 for the mechanics seat but they work wonderfully under a sprayer.

I found an old and extremely heavy printing press today that I gotta go back and get pics of.

73 wrenches for $5.......??? That's about 7 cents a piece. My local bedroom town hardware store new box wrenches probably average $3-6 a piece new by themselves!!! I find the best looking ones and where you're 4-5 deep in those sizes, sell the others on some sort of on-line auction. Even if you sold them for a buck a piece, you'd 10x your money...
