Yep, a year ! I've lived without power for that long before but it was usually by choice. Not this time.

My honey John has seen this junk yard dog at the end of my chain a few times in this last year. Good thing he likes me so darn much. :)
As some of you know, last march we purchased an old 1919 built house that sat vacant for around 8 years and survived many years of abuse and neglect before then. It was so vile and disgusting that The owners were going to burn the place down.
Soon as I get my computer back from my boy I'll sit and load some before and afters for anyone interested.

Anyway its been a long hard haul getting this place renovated. All wiring redone and pvc replaced with copper piping. Floors and sub floors replaced in many rooms as well as the bottom forth of most of the walls. All the kitchen and bathroom totally gutted and replaced. Surprisingly enough it hadn't been vandalized except by the swallows who built nests in all the hanging light covers.

I've often this past year, referred to my home as the, hummm, how can i put it? The free prostitute who demands all of our money and attention. I guess that's close enough. lol
What a luxury to turn on a switch and have power.
So many take it for granted.
I see a bottle of sippi'n Jacks in my immediate future !! CHEERS BOYS !

Renovations can be trying on ones patience and difficult. Is nice to see a plan come together. Glad to hear it is finally coming along for you. Have missed reading your posts while you have been doing what needed doing. Believe NonPC's younguns are looking forward to another shot at some cookies.

renovation is a pain, worse than building new. I used to work summers remodeling houses . Good pay but hard work. Glad to hear you got power.

MSG- You've done something that most people couldn't even dream of doing, of course in own unique way. I think when your life gets a little less hectic in making those old walls livable again and the lights are fully on, you should work on a book about your life. I think you'd be surprised how many people might find it interesting, especially if they could download it and read it on their smart phones ;--) !!
