Today we had our annual conservation camp class out at Blue lake Provincial Park for the trappers work shop along with their field work into forestry and eco systems. We had 30 students. But 1/2 hour before we were to start with the first class along came the Catholic kindergarten class on a field trip to the park. They asked if we could do a short demonstration and see our furs. We all smiled and said step right up. the weather was on the cool side with temps around the 40F.

the little ones were just fascinated with the fur and traps. We all felt pretty good after they left. We had a good time with them and did get a few chuckles from some of their questions and answers.

We then moved on to the students. Was sure glad when things came to an end as we were all but frozen. Just a couple of pics added with the students.

Well that's it for this year with trapper education for the kids
One more thing I had taken a hind foot from a beaver to show them the grooming claw that beavers have. When I removed it from the bag and asked if any of then knew what this was they said a ducks foot....lol.

Great job to you and your crew Wolf! You'd be surprised at what seeds were planted in those tyke's heads today. I would love to hear the stories they told to their families when they got back home. Glad there are folks like Y'all that take the time and effort to teach the younger folks the art of trapping and fur handling.
