John and I lost a very expensive digital camera out north of 219 in Lewisburg, West Virginia. *LOL* So, since then, we only take two. We take my digital camcorder which never leaves my neck, and a neat 1 time use digital camera that you can buy at Walmart or CVS or walgreens. They're cheap, only like 15 bucks, you can see and delete photos, continue to retake until you like it, takes like 32 pics, and you just drop it off. They put it on CD for you, or can print off proofs! It's nice, because we're not out a lot of money if it falls out of a pocket when you're field dressing a roadkill. *LOL*

We usually buy a dozen or so for the season. :)

Bought a panasonic GS250 this past year. "The kid,or the man now " Is stationed in Anchorage and I knew we'd be salmon fishin and well,,,,,It was ALASKA.
A wonderful camera 800 bucks
Now,,,,,It is with me every step of the way on the fur line .
I know where I park, where I went in,red flag the set ,take a movie of the set, revove the red flag ,nararate exactly where it is and its on tape.
A ninty minute tape easily 50 sets of info.
Come back the next day, record my catches, then come home and get some still shots of the prize. I luv my camera. Being able to narrate as to loction setting is awsome to pinpoint that last trench set

I would definitely go digital. You can view your pictures, delete and retake if they're not good enough for you, etc.

You do not have to spend a lot of money to get a great camera these days.

I found this website-- http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp

You can go there and run a comparison of all of the cameras available now. Pretty nice site...
