What a wonderful day in the woods. Started out with a watch cap on, then switched to a ball cap then nothing. All in about 15 minutes.

1st trip up the mountain

2nd load , made 3 total. The legs were a little rubbery once home.

Been waiting since April 15th for a Bruno pic, all I keep seeing is you hopping around on those logs. Don't know if I can take the pressure much longer...lol. Best of luck to you.

Thank for all the encouragement!

Easy guys

This trap takes a while. These bears have a circuit just like all predators. They are not even eating yet! The females with cubs stay close to the den for a while and the boars have no reason to roam until food is plentiful and the sows are in heat. This is an early and short season. 1 week into it and no bear yet and just 3 weeks left.
I think tomorrow, if I can sneak out, I will head back up and put out some more attractant scent.
I will not go to the site on the weekend. The risk cannot be taken that anyone out and about to see a truck on the side of the road! Also, on the week days that I do go, it can only be between 11:00 A.M and 1:30 P.M. The bears, when they show up, need to be trained.
Food , and any disturbance, comes only at mid day and I am food. ( Swamp will like that one.)

Nice grouping Pipe, any tighter than that you will be breaking nocks.

Post subject:  Re: Pipepusher Spring Bear 2013

The last trip up, Pipe put a back door on the ground blind, so a beast cannot see right thru.

Pipe held off yesterday going up the hill. Wife's B-Day.
Today at noon, the bait was checked. :)
Just like normal, even with the warm spring the bears seem to be right on " their " schedule.

1 minute apart... definitely 2 different bears.

1st one

and the 2nd one

I will do better, this one is 56 to 59"

Just had to add 1 decoy bag of bread.
Raised the barrel 4".
