Hey everyone just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jacob and I'm from SouthEast Texas. I have been trapping for about 4 years, but never with a line more than 6 traps. This year I have been stocking up and learning more and more online and I plan on running a 24 trap line. Would like to upload some pics but not accustomed to this site yet.

Hello Jacob and welcome to the Forum. What town are you close to in southeast TX? Where do you do your trapping?

I go to Lamar University but I trap in Jasper County. Mainly on private land and in the creeks for the ADC beaver.

Thanks guys. All the pics except the one with me and the grey are from last year. This year I have caught two greys on a coon set. 1 trap by a pond baited with marsh mellows and syrup two nights in a row

Jacob, you have catching a mink listed as a priority; do you have mink in that area? I am about 90 miles north of you and have never seen one. My dad claims to have seen one years ago, but I don't know.

No I have never seen one but my step dad caught one 20 years ago, and I know several trappers that catch one every couple of year. I don't believe they are plentiful like coons but like muskrat I believe if you get into the swamps down here you can get them.

Great looking catches Jacob! I have a Granddaughter attending Lamar U. I am from Tyler county & Hardin county originally but now live in Lufkin. I know Buna very well. You spoke of the mink, it has been years since I have seen or caught a mink in southeast TX. Good luck and if you catch one, be sure and post it on WAT! Glad you have joined us.

Sounds good Jacob, let me get back from Ontario Canada and we'll see how it works out.

You're A fighter Jacob? What class are you? You gotta tell us next time you're fighting on TV! I will watch for sure! I am going to see if I can find it on the net. Too cool! To my knowledge, you are the only fighter that is on here that I have met. Maybe a shy sleeper somewhere but no one else has ever piped up. Glad you did! :--D[/quote]

Hahahaha no I am not a fighter. professional at least lol. I was sitting behind the announcers.
