bout 3 years ago my high-tech, high-dollar propane heating system bit the dust. I was sick of paying high repair fees and high propane fees so I ripped out the system and bought an outdoor wood/coal stove. I saved the hot water tank from the propane system because it was stainless steel and I figured some day I would find a use for it.

Yesterday, while waiting for the snow we never got ,  I cut that tank in half. Today, since I didn't have to plow and shovel snow,   I installed 4 heavy duty hinges, a couple handles, a chain to hold the lid, and 2 racks, one high and one low.

No more buying cheap Chinese junk grills that rust out after one summer. This sucker should last me out. 8) 8)

Thanks guys. Now I need to build a stand for it. I'd also like to get some new racks too. I just stuck those old ones in so I could tell where to put the supports.

Job well done Doc. Is it galvanized? Who knows, I might get to try some food cooked in it some day.

It's stainless steel , Swamp. Next time you're up this way we will definitely put it to use.
