I just got a 12 foot flat bottom boat and was wonering what size of anchor it should have? I will mostly be using it for a slow moving river and ponds.

it wont take much a five pound anchor would hold it real nice.

Sounds like a good boat for a homemade anchor. Get a coffee can, fill it with concrete and stick an eyebolt in it. Just remember to set it in the boat, not drop it in the boat. :shock: A friend of mine had that happen to his and he ended up having to patch a large hole.

Been ther done that! :oops: If you drop it you had better be good at bailing and rowing at the same time, the water comes in pretty fast. Just watch so you don't have any sharp corners.
