Ya thats what i use, tip a wax worm right on my treble hook and reel em in, but nothing to me beats minnows, and for bass, nothing beats small frogs and crayfish.

I use teardrop jigs with waxworms or spike for panfish, work pretty good on Lake Whitefish too. Spoons and plugs i use for gamefish and when fishing Chequamegan bay for trout and salmon.

When you go fishing for panfish next time, you have to try Swedish Pimples, its a terrific lure. It is quite common to buy in outdoor stores, i get mine at Gander Mountain. anyways try using one, i used them only for panfish, but they make different ones for walleye and such.

How right you are ! I've had success with Swedish Pimples on several different species of fish. I use them primarily for ice fishing and have caught white bass, yellow perch, and rainbow trout with them and have also had good luck with them in open water on whitefish. I usually use them in conjunction with a small treble hook tipped with spikes(maggotts). shrimp, or pieces of nightcrawler for whitefish.

I use the Swedish Pimples quite a bit too, mostly for perch and walleye through the ice. Great lures.
