After years of collecting skulls i finally got me some demestid beetles to clean my own skulls. Until now i always sent them to a guy i know who has beetles. He gave me this small colony to start out with. The cool part is that a colony of the size i got is about $60 online and i got them for free. I have about 8 or so skulls to do and add to my collection of over 30 skulls so far. I have always found skulls to be really cool and they are really fun to collect. I will try to post some pics of my beetles and my collection as soon as i can.

Keep them in a shed away from any fur or taxidermy work. I have heard some horror stories from people who had skulls cleand and accidently brought a few home.

Wonder if a dunk in bleach etc would eliminate any beetle stragglers? Ive heard of them beetles but never knew anyone that had any or messed with them. Congrats on a good deal and that was nice of him.

The guy that does mine, says that he freezes the heads for awhile, before they go home.
