I've found ticks on deer in the past, but one of the deer I shot last season was loaded with them. I't was good and cold at the time, so I left the deer alone until the ticks got so cold that they couldn't move, then skinned and cut it up. I burned the hide ( hated to do it ) and cleaned everything well, so I wouldn't have problems with the ticks. Like I said, I've seen a few here and there in the past, but nothing like that. Just wondering how common this is.

Here in Wisconsin it's very common. It's unusual to get a deer that doesn't have some. I saw a do while turkey hunting a few years ago that must have had at least a hundred on her neck alone. Man did she look bad!
