Congrats on your first otter. I see you are a fellow Arkansawyer! I caught my first otter this morning in a beaver set. He weighed 23 lbs. I'd like to know what an otter toilet is myself. Is there a topic on here somewhere about it?? I'll post some pics later. I to am trapping on Game and fish along Mud Creek and seem to have it all to myself.

Caught another one today, made another set under a dam this morning went back at 4:oo to show my son (he has been sick with the flu 4 a week), where I was trapping and there she was!! Thanks everyone for your feedback, HUNT1321 I just searched all the treads on otters and learned about the toilets I've read so many I wouldn't know where to tell you to look. The first OT I found was so big a blind man could find it , I had seen an otter swimming under this bridge put my waders on and started walking the back looking 4 sign and stumbled on the OT, I found 2 more that day that were smaller but by then I knew what to look for.FECES with a lot of fish scales in it. The otter I caught today was less than 20yds from an OT.

I appreciate it, I skinned mine this morning and fleshed it, I'll have to admit they are not easy to skin. Had two beautiful beaver hides nailed and drying on the side of one of our sheds, something got both of them, they were about five feet off the ground, couldn't really distinguish any tracks, but one things for sure I won't be guilty of that again. Congrats on the other otter. I found one of my 220s I had set for a coon on a cubby set tripped with the bait missing about fifty yds down river from where I caught the otter in a 330 castor set, looks like he may have tripped the 220 and got my bait out of the coon set before going on to the beaver set, or perhaps it was another, had to be fairly large to escape the 220. I'll keep my eyes out for the toilets, lot's of slides on both sides of the creekl; I know it can't all be from beavers. Just simply not that much beaver sign. Thanks again.
