I figured that title would get your attention.

I received a very "intelligent" e-mail from an anti yesterday. Here is what it said--

"Who are you kidding?
They do hurt and are inhumane.
We don't need trappers and we don't need fur coats."

Like I said, very "intelligent". Too funny.

At least she didn't threaten me with a Glock 9MM to the head like the last anti that sent me hate mail.

Why can't these people realize it's not about the fur coats? It's about managing a population of wildlife so that future generations of these animals can be healthy and well balanced???

It's sad really. They buy into this propaganda but never do any research for themselves. Logic is just too hard to understand, and like cattle, they just follow the fenceline that PETA and the HSUS have put up because they just don't know any better.

I have no trouble sticking my left leg in a bear trap to show people they don't hurt. ;)

Same old stuff they been putting out since the mid 70's and it's a shame, but it does get people's attention .The misinformed are willing to listen to anything if they think they are in the right.I used to get it a lot from collage student's.I seen on another site where trappers were bashing houndhunter's and how thing's go down hill when the dog guy's move in.Same misinformation as the trapping. They should know better. As sportsmen and women we should stand together not divided!!!

I am not a hound hunter, but I have no problem with them. The more hunters the better.

Well said chieftain and lilbit.

I am NOT trying to start a debate here, but I have no moral conflict with my choice of enjoying outdoor pursuits. Here's my reason why: In the book of Genesis it says "God gave man dominion over the animals of the earth, fowl of the air, and fish of the sea". In MY mind that means man has the responsibility to manage our wildlife in the best interest of all wildlife and man. Since dominion's definition is complete control.
Anti's: Did you see that big word responsibility?
That means to Do not to simply Preach.

I am now off the soapbox. Thank you.

I never that the website business could be so deadly TrapperKD...

I thought I was tempting fate wearing a Maine flag patch on my coat during a ten-day stint in Dixie this month, but not one of those southerners threatened me with a Glock.

It certainly got my attention. I have had my share of threats from Anti's (many of them from France) while listing furs to be sold on Ebay. Though no mention of a gun to my head, they did cause havoc on my auctions. I reported this to the Ebay Safe Harbor Team as it was a violation, however they did virtually nothing to resolve the matter. I advised them that all submitted transcripts & emails would be rendered to the FBI. While this may seem extreme, I take no prisoners when the livelihood of others and/or myself is in jeopardy. The Department has sided with me and is enforcing the 'Animal Enterprise Act'. No mater how little the threat to our industry, I believe a penalty must be imposed to those who wish to deny our rights. For any of you who are not familiar with the above, it's a new federal law that protects people involved in animal enterprises, like fur ranching, hunting, trapping, and lab mouse breeding. It can be scene entirely at:  http://www.nal.usda.gov/awic/legislat/pl102346.htm

No, I did not. Actually I wasn't aware of this thread. Question: Should it be? And if so, where can I find it?

Thanks Gary S., I believe every bit helps.

I have the right to trap, and I choose to trap. People forget that Canada was founded by the trapping industry. "Hudson's Bay Company" The British and French first came to this country in search of "FURS" not condominiums. And in fact, if they had their way originally, there may not be any pelts left for taking. We follow strict rules, regulations and guidelines set out by our own industry to preserve wildlife. Every good trapper manages his line. It's a business. ( But a heck of a lot of fun )

you dont need to worry about "us southerners" doing anything to people from up north. You can wear your Maine flag all you want and i will wear my Louisiana. We are all part of the same country (the greatest one on this earth). We stand together and we fight together.

AAAAAAAAAAAhahahhahahahahhahahah!!!! *dies laughing* I just got an email from a kid over in Europe. Ithad to be a kid because no adult is so immature as to send an email filled with profanity and expect to be taken seriously.

Basically, the kid called us fat. Then he said we're liars. Then pointed me to that other kids website that picks on Trapperman and was retarded enough to say it's based on science. *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHA* and then told me I'm going to rot in my grave (Hey idiot... EVERYONE ROTS WHEN THEY'RE DEAD!!!) And that we're the ones ruining the earth, though I'd be willing to put money on it that that machine he's typing on isn't earth friendly, that if he's old enough to drive (which I doubt he is) probably uses gasoline and not corn, probably heats with electric or oil, or worse, wood, wears cotton (which is responsible for killing MILLIONS of field mice, bunnies and baby deer every year), or better yet, leather belts or shoes, eats meat of some kind, and if he doesn't eat meat, eats vegetables which is killing the planet because by eating veggies, you're killing oxygen making plants, increasing your METHANE because the human digestive tract reacts to plant matter differently than animal matter, so YOU get gassier (why the heck do you think cows produce methane, idiot!??? BECAUSE THEY EAT PLANTS!!!!) so you become THE NUMBER ONE REASON THE OZONE IS GOING AWAY. Way to go, 'tard.

And the next time you want to email me kid, ask your parents if you can use their email, because the little anonymous thing? It either means you have no testicles, or you left your tampon in too long.

Talk to a biologist idiot. Try and learn something. And go buy a burger and save the freakin' planet!

If we didn't have trappers there would be so many animals that they would probably start attacking people because of the lack of food.

There would be no lack of food. I'm actually digging this no trapping idea. Think about it:

We stop trapping.
Animal populations explode
They run out of cats and dogs to eat
Shelters empty.
Start eating homeless people
Fixes our homeless people problem
Start eating people on welfare
Fixes our welfare system.
Then they eat all of the antis that are running around in meadows playing with butterflies
Which fixes our antis problem
And then we can go back to trapping and have wonderful harvests!
