I have been trying to tan a rabbit hide using the cabelas formula but it has turned out to be like paper on the skin side. The fur side is fine. What could I have done wrong so I don't do it in the future.

did you streach it when it was drying? that is how it gets soft. with a rabbit skin you gently have to pull it in all directions don't overdo it or it will rip. I have given up on rabbits the skin is to hard to get a good fur since the skin is so thin
