BACK WHEN I TOOK THE TEST THERE WAS NO FEE.
BACK THEN THE TEST WAS EASY, BUT NOW IT'S MAINLY ON ANIMAL REGS. WHAT CAN THEY TEST YOU ON ABOUT CAGE TRAPPING!

AS FOR THE MONEY?
IT IS LIKE ANYTHING ELSE...MAKE A PLAN AND STICK TO IT.
HOW MUCH LAND YOU HAVE TO TRAP AND HOW MANY ANIMALS THAT LAND HOLDS. CAGE TRAPPING MAKES YOU A LONG LINER, TRAPPING FROM ROADSIDES FOR MILES AND MILES.
WITH GAS AT 5.00 A GAL. HOW MANY MILES WILL YOU DRIVE A SEASON?
BOBCATS 200-400.00, COONS AVG 25.00,MINK, HOW MANY ANIMALS WILL IT TAKE TO BREAK EVEN? ABOUT TRAPS...
I WOULD START WITH AT LEAST 3 DOZEN TRAPS THEN GET MORE.
FORGET ABOUT HARBOR FRIEGHT TRAPS....BUILD YOUR OWN!THEY WILL BE STRONGER AND CHEAPER!
JOIN ALL THE TRAPPING WEBSITES, JOIN THE NTA, CTA YES CALIFORNIA STILL HAS ONE. ASK EVERY QUESTION YOU HAVE.

THE MAIN THING ABOUT TRAPPING THAT EVERYONE MISSES!
LEARN ABOUT ANIMAL SIGN!!!! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE BOOK INTO THE FIELD.
MANY FOLKS TRAP BLINDLY.HOPING SOMETHING GETS IN THE TRAP.
ANY QUESTIONS SHOOT ME A PM.

I took the test it was 81 questions pretty easy. I don't know if I can make 3 dozen traps but I did get a few I did see those traps at harbor frieght they were so cheaply made. I am going to get some material to weld up some traps though. Who do you sell your furs to the NAFA or local?

Im from Nevada but my son is from Quincy. He started cage trapping this year with the few that we were able to buy. We were surprised with a Bobcat a few weeks ago then a Gray fox. We are slowly learning about sign and location and the more hiking and exploring we do the more we learn. Right now we are working at filling our bear tags. I bought a non resident license and a Bear tag and have seen three so far along with lots of Fox tracks and bobcat tracks in the snow.............I really enjoy finding old logging roads and deer trails that are pounded with fox tracks. Maybe next year we will be able top buy 6 more cages.
