Any one out there still trapping fox or beaver? I am getting ready to pull my fox sets and start getting some under ice beaver sets out! Gotta love alaskas version of spring beaver trapping! Instead of 3 ft of ice to chisel through its only 12 :P

nice! i just pulled my fox line early, its starting to become spring here, i am sure its just a "fake spring" but it got too slippery to climb most of the area that i had traps, hoping to get a couple beaver sets out but not sure when, the edge ice is getting alittle less safe...

i hate that when the ice is too thin to walk on but to thick for them to come out.

yes sir... been a problem this whole season for me... As soon as we get some good ice, we get a bunch of rain to weaken the 10 ft or so of the edge ice... I almost lost a snare pole about 2 weeks ago with ice shift and rain weakening the area around the cache... i had to learn how to laso like a texan to get it from shore, what a mess that was....

Hoping to get out today and get some sets out. You have alot of beavers with set dams, and lodges down there? We have alot of bank lodges, on open lakes here... Makes it really hard to get traps set for them with the crappy ice....
