Dlog- Again, thank you for your service as well as your wife's and kids. Military spouses and children serve just as much as their folks in uniform. They pay a heavy price...

Thanks nonPCfed she enjoys it although I have never deployed (messed up my knee before I could). My unit finally got back from Afghanistan and thankfully we didn't lose that many soldiers. The ones we did lose will never be forgotten and their sacrifice has a lasting impression in my mind. One of the soldiers we lost his wife was pregnant with their second child and we lost him in September his birthday was December 3rd and his son was born on December 3rd. Not a planned due date or anything no induced labor but he came 2 weeks early to share his daddy's birthday... They did a news story on it in Arkansas where he was from and it was very touching. Anyone who says the spouses and children of soldiers don't have it hard are ignorant and need to be educated. Although I will never deploy during my time in service I still feel as though I have served my country with Honer and I refuse to be told otherwise. The support and respect a military member receives is an amazing feeling. When out of the blue someone walks up and shakes your hand and tells you thank you or even when someone thanks you on a forum (like this one lol) it brings a warmth to your heart, a smile to your face and maybe even a tear to your eye knowing that you have made a difference in someones life with out even knowing them. I am honestly proud to serve and I believe if I wouldn't have messed up my knee I would probably stay for another few years, But God has a path for us all and This is the path I will take. To all of the service members on here no matter what branch no matter Active , Reserves, National Guard, Retired or whatever you have my thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Here is a link to the news story for Sgt. Swindle and his son if you would like to see it http://www.fox16.com/news/story/Beebe-Army-wife-delivers-son-after-husbands-death/49AkvAiGh0ykeJJljxN0EQ.cspx
